Donate your Car to the American Red Cross
Make a difference locally by donating your vehicle to the American Red Cross. Your unwanted car, boat, or RV is a valuable resource for the Red Cross. Proceeds from the sale of your vehicle will go directly to the Cornhusker Chapter of the Red Cross to provide emergency services to the victims of house fires and disasters, Red Cross swimming lessons, lifesaving training or emergency communications services for military families.
  1. Contact Alexis Abel at abela@usa.redcross.org or phone (402) 441-6797 to make an appointment to bring the title of your vehicle to the Red Cross office at 220 Oakcreek Drive.

  2. You can bring your vehicle directly to the Chapter, or we can arrange for your vehicle to be picked up or towed at no cost to you. Towing and pick-up are limited to within the city limits of Lincoln.

  3. The Red Cross will issue a receipt for your vehicle, and within 30 days we will send you a letter (for tax purposes) indicating the amount we received from the sale of your vehicle.
Your car donation may be tax deductible. The Red Cross is classified as a 501 (c)(3) organization. If you believe the value of the donated vehicle exceeds $5,000, you may need to obtain an appraisal for tax purposes. If you have further questions regarding charitable donations, check with your tax professional and/or the IRS .
